What would we be without social networks, without having the option of communicating with our customers, or waking up and nervously observing that - hypothetically - the social networks that we cherish so much no longer exist?
These were the 3 main questions I asked myself on October 4, 2021, after being in front of the pc without understanding at first the fall of Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp.
In recent years, the presence of SMEs on social networks is increasing by 63%. Most of them do not have adverse digital channels such as having a website, online store, Google My Business, organizational communication channels such as Slack, Tawk.to and other digital tools that enhance the proximity to the end customer.
And by relying on a single digital channel, the entrepreneur is exposed to any kind of commercial crisis... If there is no platform, if there are no social networks, it means there is no money.
That's where we have to be aware of what kind of digital marketing we should aim at and how it should be scalable at web level, because there is more than one alternative to grow and adapt the mass consumption models, because I can't imagine what all the companies that are only in the main social networks will do with a global fall of two days, a week, or a month -being exaggerated-.
If we noticed, the user migrates quickly in search of connectivity. Telegram gained 70 million new users, Twitter became the social network of choice to generate humor and be the center of information dissemination, LinkedIn was not left behind with the generation of new campaigns at B2B level, the direct search of web pages through Google had an increase of 60% worldwide without counting the influence of Google Ads, among others.
